I wish I could say there has been a lot of progress happening, but that just isn't true. It's so hard to stay excited and positive when it feels like everything is on hold. The weather this winter has just not been in our favor and because the county offices were all shut down last week because of snow and ice and again on Monday because of Presidents Day we were waiting on an inspection so that we could move on with drywall. There were a few things that needed to be done before drywall could begin and I believe that now that is all taken care of. I'm just praying that as soon as drywall begins the first of next week we will zip through the next several weeks because our kitchen cabinets ready to be delivered and I am ready to make the other decisions for the rest of the interior details.
Yesterday the metal roof was completed and I love the way it looks. Obviously, nothing on the house has been painted yet, including the roof, but I love the way it looks on the wrap-around porch.

Stone
We were on a roll in January, but things have really slowed down. A lot of it has had to do with the weather and the extreme cold temperatures we've had. We were also waiting on inspections before other interior things could be done.
We had some good weather last week so the stone guys were able to get started on the stone on the house. They still have to do the fire places and the stone on the porch columns, but I was happy to see some progress.
The insulation and drywall is supposed to begin this week, but the weather folks are calling for more snow and ice to begin tomorrow night, and since our city basically shuts down with wintery weather, I'm not holding my breath that much will get done. At this point I'm basically just praying that sunshine and spring-like weather will come soon so this house can get finished.
